Hydrogen cars are here! The future of hydrogen cars is not a pipe dream, as there are already many hydrogen cars on the road. California and Japan have many hydrogen cars being used as fleet vehicles now. Honda was the first that leased the first commercial hydrogen car. Hydrogen cars offer the promise of zero emission technology, where the only byproduct from the cars is water vapour. Recent technological advances, particularly in fuel cell design, have made hydrogen-powered cars a practical proposition, and car makers expect to start mass-producing them within the next decade or so. Their power and acceleration should match those of today’s petrol-powered vehicles, but they may have to be refuelled more often. The best ways to produce, distribute and store the hydrogen still have to be sorted out. In the short term fossil fuels may remain in demand as a hydrogen source. However, the idea that in the not too distant future most of us will be driving non-polluting cars fuelled by hydrogen from a clean, renewable source is no longer a fantasy.
This idea of using hydrogen as fuel was made up by a Portuguese man, but some petrol company bought his Rights so that their business don't fall! For 20 Million dollars... Who wouldn't ?!
